At our church’s Annual Meeting on Sunday, January 28, 2007, it was unanimously decided to begin an ambitious new task to renovate our worship area in preparation for our 150th anniversary in 2008.  This project in no way took away from the beauty and historical significance of our church, but is a continuation of the work that was begun with the reconstruction of the vaulted ceiling and the chandelier.  This project addressed safety issues, handicap accessibility issues, and refreshed and enhanced our worship area.

  • The project will began with the removal of the chimney and some walls between the music area and the sanctuary.  This  opened up the altar area and increased our seating capacity from 95 to 140.
  • The second phase made the sanctuary floor and the music area all one level.  This makes the worship area entirely wheelchair accessible from the lift area.
  •  The third and most costly part of  the renovation was the purchase and installation of new pews and auxiliary seating.

Construction began in the spring of 2008 and was completed with the installation of the new pews in the fall of 2008.  This renovation project was and is a show of faith in our future.
